About SIP Calculator
Estimate how a Systematic Investment Plan — a fixed amount invested every month — could grow over time. It runs in your browser.
How it works
Each monthly payment earns returns, and those returns earn returns of their own, so growth speeds up the longer you stay invested. For example, 5,000 a month for 10 years is 600,000 invested. At an assumed 12% a year (1% a month), with payments at the start of each month, it could grow to about 1,161,700 — a gain of roughly 561,700. Calculators can differ slightly depending on whether they assume payments at the start or end of the month and how they turn a yearly rate into a monthly one.
Returns are not guaranteed
The result is a projection based on the rate you enter, not a promise. Fund and stock market returns go up and down from year to year, and past returns don't predict future ones. Try a cautious rate as well as an optimistic one to see the range.
Time matters more than amount
Starting five years earlier often adds more to the final value than increasing the monthly amount, because the early payments have the longest time to grow.
Costs and inflation
Fund management fees reduce the return each year, and inflation reduces what the final amount can buy. A 12% return with 8% inflation is roughly 4% in real terms.
Islamic options
Shariah-compliant funds are available for those who avoid interest; the same projection works with their expected profit rate.
This is not financial advice — read a fund's documents and fees before investing. For a single lump sum, use the Compound Interest Calculator.
