Savings Goal Calculator
Enter your goal and choose whether you want the monthly amount or the time it will take.
How it works
Your current savings grow at the expected return, and each monthly saving is added at the end of the month and grows too (monthly compounding). The calculator then solves for the monthly amount, or steps month by month until the goal is reached.
Typical goals
- A car or motorcycle down payment, a wedding, Hajj or Umrah, school or university fees, a house deposit, or an emergency fund of 3–6 months of expenses.
- For short goals (under 2–3 years), use a low, safe return — savings accounts, term deposits or money market funds — because there is no time to recover from losses.
- Remember inflation: if prices rise, a goal set in today's money needs more money later. Raise the goal accordingly.
Setting up an automatic monthly transfer on payday is the simplest way to stick to the plan. Returns are estimates, not guarantees.
