CGPA Calculator
Work out your semester GPA from your course grades, your cumulative CGPA across semesters, and what you need next semester to reach your target.
Grade points used (edit to match your university)
How GPA and CGPA are calculated
Semester GPA = sum of (grade points × credit hours) ÷ total credit hours. A 3-credit course with an A (4.0) and a 2-credit course with a B (3.0) give (12 + 6) ÷ 5 = 3.60.
CGPA combines all semesters, weighted by credit hours, not a simple average of semester GPAs. A 3.8 in an 18-credit semester counts more than a 2.0 in a 9-credit summer semester.
Grade points
The default table (A = 4.0, A− = 3.67, B+ = 3.33, B = 3.0 and so on) is the 4.0 scale used by many universities, including many in Pakistan following HEC guidelines. Universities differ: some give A+ more than 4.0, some have no minus grades, and some use letter bands from percentages. Open “Grade points used” and change the numbers to match your university's handbook. Your edits are used straight away.
Converting CGPA to percentage
There is no single formula. Each university publishes its own conversion table, and some employers and HEC equivalence forms ask for it. Check your university's official table instead of using a general formula.
GPAs are shown cut to two decimals (3.996 shows as 3.99), as most transcripts do. Everything is calculated in your browser.
