Compress PDF

PDF compression reduces a file's size by re-encoding images and optimizing the internal file structure, without changing what the document looks like on the page. This matters most for PDFs with lots of images or scanned pages — those often carry far more data than they need to for screen or print use.

There's a real quality-versus-size tradeoff: lighter compression keeps quality closer to the original with a smaller size reduction, while higher compression saves more space at the cost of some image sharpness.
