Retirement Calculator
Enter your age, savings and monthly contribution to see what you could have at retirement and the monthly income it could support.
How the estimate works
Your current savings and each monthly contribution grow at the expected return, compounded monthly. Each year the contribution rises by the percentage you choose, which works well if you save a share of a growing salary. At retirement, the calculator shows the total and its value in today's money after inflation. It also shows the level monthly income that total could pay until the age you choose, while the rest keeps earning the same return.
Choosing realistic numbers
- Return: bank savings and government savings schemes pay less than equity funds, which go up and down. Use a cautious number. A few percent above inflation is a common long-term assumption for a balanced mix.
- Inflation: in Pakistan, inflation has often been high. Use a long-term average rather than one year's figure.
- Contribution increase: matching your expected salary rises keeps saving the same share of income.
This is a planning estimate, not financial advice. Returns are not guaranteed, and taxes, fees and the rules of pension funds (such as VPS) or EOBI are not included.
