Electricity Usage Calculator
List your appliances with their watts and daily hours to see which ones use the most units.
How units are calculated
One unit on your bill is one kilowatt-hour (kWh): 1,000 watts used for one hour. Units = watts × hours per day × days ÷ 1,000. A 75 W fan running 14 hours a day uses about 31.5 units a month; a 1,500 W AC for 8 hours uses about 360.
Getting accurate numbers
- The watts are on the appliance label or in its manual. Inverter ACs and fridges use less than their maximum most of the time, so real usage is often lower.
- For the rate, divide your last bill's energy charge by its units. Electricity tariffs in Pakistan depend on the slab and change over time; taxes, fixed charges and fuel adjustments are added on top.
Saving units
The table is sorted with the biggest users first — usually cooling and heating. Raising the AC thermostat to 26°C, switching to LED lights and inverter fans, and turning off devices at the switch all reduce the bill.
