GIF to MP4
Choose an animated GIF to turn it into an MP4 video.
Why MP4 is better than GIF
GIF is a 1980s image format: it supports only 256 colours and stores every frame almost whole, so animations are large and look grainy. The same animation as an MP4 video is usually 5–10 times smaller and smoother. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X and messaging apps convert GIFs to video anyway.
About the result
- The video is H.264 MP4 with even dimensions and the standard colour format, so phones, WhatsApp and PowerPoint play it.
- GIFs have no sound, so the video is silent. Add music with Add Audio to Video.
- Choose how many times the animation repeats inside the video. For a long loop, use Loop Video afterwards.
- Transparent areas become black, because video has no transparency.
To go the other way, use Video to GIF.

Your file is processed on our server only to make your result, and is deleted when you download it or automatically after about an hour. It is never shared or used for anything else.
How it works
- Upload — select or drag & drop your file.
- Process — choose any options and start; most files take a few seconds, large files, OCR and video can take a minute or two.
- Download — save the result; it is deleted from the server once downloaded (or after about an hour).
