Audio Normalizer
Choose an audio or video file and where it will be published.
Why normalize loudness?
Recordings come out too quiet, too loud, or with some parts much louder than others: a quiet guest on a podcast, a lecture recorded from the back of the room, or a set of songs at different levels. Normalizing measures perceived loudness, not just peaks, and adjusts the whole file to a standard target, with a limiter so nothing clips.
Which target?
- -14 LUFS: YouTube, Spotify and most streaming services turn louder tracks down to about this level anyway.
- -16 LUFS: the common standard for podcasts and spoken word.
- -23 LUFS: the EBU R128 broadcast standard for TV and radio.
For a video, only the sound is changed. The picture is copied untouched and the result is an MP4. For audio files, choose MP3, M4A or WAV. Normalizing can't remove background noise, and very quiet recordings may make the noise more noticeable.
Privacy
Your file is processed on our server only to make your result, and is deleted when you download it or automatically after about an hour. It is never shared or used for anything else.
How it works
- Upload — select or drag & drop your file.
- Process — choose any options and start; most files take a few seconds, large files, OCR and video can take a minute or two.
- Download — save the result; it is deleted from the server once downloaded (or after about an hour).
