Crop by shape

Choose the shape the platform wants and the tool keeps the largest centred area of that shape. A 16:9 landscape video cropped to 9:16 keeps the middle strip, which works when the subject is in the centre. For a phone video recorded upright, cropping to 4:5 or 1:1 trims the top and bottom.

Crop by trimming edges

Remove a percentage from each side, for example 10% from the bottom to cut off a watermark or black bar. Each side can be trimmed by up to 45%.

Good to know

Cropping removes part of the picture. To fit a whole video into a frame with bars instead, use Resize Video.
The result is an MP4 (H.264 + AAC) that plays on phones, WhatsApp and social media. The sound is kept.
Rotated phone videos are straightened automatically before cropping.
