Text Diff Checker
Paste the original text on the left and the changed text on the right to see exactly what was added, removed or changed.
How the comparison works
The checker finds the smallest set of changes that turns the original text into the changed text (the same method version-control tools such as Git use). Removed parts are shown in red with a minus sign, added parts in green with a plus sign.
- Lines — best for code, lists, CSV rows and documents. When a line was edited rather than replaced, the exact changed words inside it are highlighted.
- Words — best for paragraphs and articles, where one edit should not mark the whole paragraph as changed.
- Characters — best for short values such as IDs, codes or URLs, where a single letter matters.
Ignore extra spaces treats “a b” and “a b” as the same and ignores spaces at the start and end of lines, which is useful when one copy was re-indented. Ignore upper/lower case treats “Lahore” and “lahore” as the same.
Privacy and limits
Both texts are compared inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored, so it is safe for contracts, code and private notes. Very large texts that are almost completely different (more than 2,000 separate changes) are reported as “too different” instead of freezing the page.
