What each option fixes

• Join lines inside paragraphs repairs text copied from PDFs, where every line ends with a hard line break. Lines are joined into proper paragraphs, and the empty line between paragraphs is kept.
• Remove hidden characters deletes characters you cannot see but that break searches, formulas and form fields: zero-width spaces, byte-order marks, soft hyphens, text-direction marks and control characters. The zero-width joiner and non-joiner are kept, because Urdu, Persian and emoji need them to display correctly.
• Replace non-breaking spaces turns the special spaces that websites and Word use into normal spaces, so values such as 1,000 PKR can be matched and split.
• Curly quotes → straight quotes is useful before pasting text into code, CSV files or command lines. It also turns “…” into three dots.
• Remove list numbers and bullets strips 1., 2), •, - and * from the start of lines. You can then re-number the list or sort it.
• Sort lines sorts naturally, so item 2 comes before item 10, and upper and lower case are treated alike.

Steps always run in the same order: characters first, then spaces, then lines, then sorting, then numbering. The result is the same every time. To remove repeated lines, use Remove Duplicate Lines. To change capitalisation, use the Case Converter.
