APA Citation Generator
Choose the source type, fill in the details, and copy the APA 7 reference.
APA 7 reference formats
- Journal article: Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year). Title of the article. Journal Name, volume(issue), pages. https://doi.org/…
- Book: Author, A. A. (Year). Title of the book (2nd ed.). Publisher.
- Web page: Author or Organisation. (Year, Month Day). Title of the page. Site Name. URL
The generator turns first names into initials, joins authors with commas and "&", turns a DOI into a https://doi.org link and creates both in-text forms: (Khan & Ahmed, 2024) and Khan and Ahmed (2024). With three or more authors, in-text citations use "et al.".
Finish by hand
Plain text can't carry italics: italicise the parts listed under the result after pasting. APA uses sentence case for article and book titles (only the first word, the first word after a colon and proper nouns capitalised), so type titles that way. For an organisation as author, write it in curly brackets, e.g. {World Health Organization}. Check your university's style guide (many Pakistani universities follow APA 7 for theses), and use a reference manager such as Zotero for long reference lists.
