The exact method:
- Subtract birth year from current year.
- Check whether the birthday month/day has been reached this year.
- If not, go back one year and calculate the remaining months and days from the last birthday.

- Completed years: 2026 − 1998 = 28.
- Months since last birthday: September − August = 1 month.

Someone born on 29 February (a leap year) only has a "true" birthday every four years. In non-leap years, their birthday is conventionally treated as either 28 February or 1 March depending on the calculation system.
