How to crop a photo
- Choose a photo. It opens in your browser and is not uploaded.
- Drag inside the box to move it, and drag a corner or edge to resize it. On a keyboard, click the box and use the arrow keys (hold Shift to move faster).
- For an exact size, type the X, Y, width and height in pixels.
- Press Crop & download. The cropped photo keeps the full quality of the original pixels.
Which ratio should I use?
- 1:1 profile photos, WhatsApp DP, Instagram grid.
- 4:5 Instagram portrait posts (takes up the most space in the feed).
- 16:9 YouTube thumbnails, presentations, laptop wallpapers.
- 9:16 Stories, Reels, TikTok and WhatsApp status.
- 35×45 mm the passport photo shape used in Pakistan and many other countries. Check the exact requirements of the office you are applying to.
To make the cropped photo an exact size in pixels (for example 1080 × 1080), use the Image Resizer afterwards. Saving a cropped copy also removes hidden photo data such as GPS location.
