How the comparison works

The text of both PDFs is extracted on our server, and the differences are worked out in your browser with the same engine as our Text Diff Checker. Each page starts with a "Page N" marker, so you can see where a change is. You can switch between comparing lines and words, and ignore case or extra spaces.

Limits

Only text is compared, not images, colours, fonts or layout. Scanned PDFs have no text: run both through OCR PDF first. If paragraphs were re-flowed onto different pages, unchanged text can show as moved. Word mode helps there. Always read important legal changes yourself.

Privacy

Your file is processed on our server only to make your result, and is deleted when you download it or automatically after about an hour. It is never shared or used for anything else.

How it works
