Dick Van Dyke reflected on his upcoming 100th birthday during an appearance at the Vandy High Tea event in Malibu, California.

The legendary entertainer, who will officially turn 100 in December, joked about the milestone while addressing attendees. “That’s right. I’m not officially 100 until December. Two months. Two months. It’d be funny if I didn’t make it,” he said.

The actor, known for his enduring career across television, film, and theatre, shared a more thoughtful perspective when speaking about ageing. “I brag sometimes about how I made it to 100 and the truth is, if I had known I was going to live this long, I would’ve taken better care of myself. And it is frustrating because I don’t know what I did right. Other than her [wife Arlene], I didn’t do anything right.”

Van Dyke attended the event with his wife, Arlene Silver. The pair were supporting the Van Dyke Endowment of the Arts and the upcoming Dick Van Dyke Museum.

Earlier this year, he withdrew from a separate fan event after reportedly feeling unwell.

In a previous interview with Variety marking his CBS special Dick Van Dyke: 98 Years of Magic, he reflected on his career, saying, “I enjoyed everything I did, and not a lot of people can say that.”
