The district administration reviewed preparedness and relief activities in the wake of heavy rains and rising water levels in Sakhi Sarwar and Muzaffargarh on Sunday.

Accompanied by Zonal Administrator Auqaf Nasir Mahmood, Assistant Commissioner Kot Chutta Shakib Sarwar and other officials, preparedness and relief activities in the wake of heavy rains and rising water levels, DG Khan Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhry conducted a detailed inspection of flood-affected areas and relief camps.

The administration assessed relief efforts, security arrangements, and recorded rainfall and flood data.

According to officials, unusually fast water flow triggered flash flooding in parts of Sakhi Sarwar, but timely intervention by the district administration prevented casualties and property loss.

Commissioner Chaudhry said Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Usman Khalid, DPO Tariq Province and Rescue 1122 teams reached the affected sites immediately, ensuring the safe evacuation of residents.

“All rescue and relief agencies are on high alert. The protection of people’s lives and property has been secured through timely measures,” the commissioner said.

Later, he visited Muzaffargarh, where he inspected a flood relief camp set up at Campri Hensive School.
