ABBOTTABAD:
The central office of the Abbottabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, registered with the Ministry of Commerce, has been formally inaugurated.
Member Nation Assembly (MNA) Dr Shagufta Jadun attended the ceremony as chief guest and assured full cooperation to economically empower women, including the establishment of a display centre.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by founding president of the Women Chamber Saima Rizwan Shah, Vice President Baseerat, General Secretary Asma Daud, and a large number of women entrepreneurs from various sectors.
Speaking to the media, Dr Shagufta Jadun said the chamber would provide opportunities for women across Hazara to move forward.
She said efforts would be made to facilitate interest-free loans along with training for women running small businesses.
She remarked that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa unfortunately lags far behind Punjab, where Maryam Nawaz has provided facilities such as electric bikes for women and electric buses for transportation. She also referred to federal initiatives like “Uraan Pakistan” launched by the prime minister and emphasised her long-standing work for women’s empowerment through skills programmes.
