RAWALPINDI:
A widow has accused a man of allegedly raping her after befriending her on TikTok and promising marriage, and later threatening to make their pictures viral when she demanded that he fulfil the promise in Rawalpindi.
Police have registered a case and started investigation.
According to police, SA stated that her husband had died about a year ago. She had created a TikTok account under a fake name where she used her husband’s picture. During this time, a boy contacted her through an ID named Ayesha and developed friendship with her.
After about two months he told her he was actually a boy and introduced himself as Adil, claiming that he had been a friend of her late husband.
The complainant said their friendship developed and the suspect expressed his desire to marry her. About four months ago, he came to her house in Nawababad late at night when she was alone and allegedly raped her on the pretext of marriage.
She said she resisted but he assured her that he would marry her.
According to the woman, after about 15 to 20 days he again came to her house and assaulted her again. When she asked him to bring his family to talk to her parents regarding marriage, he began to make excuses and has now clearly refused to marry her.
She said he has also threatened that if she insists on marriage, he will make their pictures viral.
She further said that four days ago the suspect again came to her house and created a scene. She did not open the door and called her sister who lives in the same street. Her sister arrived and persuaded the man to leave. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
