Timothée Chalamet has unveiled a striking new look during a livestream promoting Marty Supreme, the upcoming Josh Safdie-directed film inspired by table tennis legend Marty Reisman.

The actor appeared on Instagram Live to discuss the project and surprised viewers when he revealed a clean buzzcut hidden beneath a ping pong ball helmet as part of a playful introduction.

The livestream served as the start of Chalamet’s promotional campaign for the A24 film, which follows Marty Mauser, a talented but eccentric ping pong player navigating fame and obsession.

Chalamet attended the New York Film Festival on Monday for a screening of Marty Supreme, where he kept his new haircut under wraps with a baseball cap.

The ensemble cast for the film includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, the Creator, Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O’Leary, Abel Ferrara and Fran Drescher. The film is scheduled for a nationwide release on December 25.

Marty Supreme marks another collaboration between Chalamet and A24 and is expected to generate significant awards-season interest following its surprise premiere at the New York Film Festival.
