Netflix goes down for 20+ minutes as ‘Stranger Things’ S5 drops

Fans, millions in number, open Netflix at the same time to watch Stranger Things season five when it drops.

As a result, the streamer crashed.

According to Outage.Report, the users who signed in to watch the new episodes received the message on the screen: “Something went wrong. Sorry, we’re having trouble with your request. You’ll find lots to explore on the home page.”

The site noted the outage “started at approximately 5:01 PM and ended around 5:23 PM, lasting about 22 minutes.”

The crash from the Stranger Things season five premiere marks the first time the streamer has experienced any outage since July.

Netflix, on its part, confirmed the outage, telling The Wrap, “Some members briefly experienced an issue streaming on TV devices, but service recovered for all accounts within five minutes.”

In other news, creator Ross Duffer shares that the fans should turn off these settings, he says, in their TV to experience the show to its fullest.

“A little PSA before you watch tonight. I want to make sure that your TVs are set up properly,” he pens, adding. “Whatever you do, do not switch anything on ‘vivid’ because it’s gonna turn on all the worst offenders. It’s gonna destroy the color, and it’s not the filmmaker’s intent.”

Stranger Things season five, volume one, is streaming on the platform.
