ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur Thursday vowed to defeat the current system, as they didn’t foresee the release of PTI founder Imran Khan despite the fact there was nothing in the cases against him.
“We have the right to protest and will defeat this system with force, while we are waiting for the judiciary to become independent. When the judiciary will make its own decisions, then there is nothing in the cases against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi,” he said while talking to the media outside the Adiala jail, Rawalpindi, after meeting the party founder.
Lasting around two hours in the jail’s conference room, the discussions focused on matters related to KP’s upcoming budget and other issues concerning the party’s proposed protest movement.
Gandapur said, “I have had a detailed meeting with the founder; the budget of our province is coming. In this regard, a meeting of the economic team will be held before the budget and if the meeting is not held, then a plan of action will be decided.”
He said Imran Khan had ordered investment of funds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on human welfare, as he always emphasized investment on human development. “We will no longer give the funds that we used to give to the members directly but will give the members a scheme and a committee will approve the funds after its scrutiny,” he made it clear. The chief minister said jailing Imran was an injustice adding, “It is an injustice that we are not being allowed to sit and talk with him; the same drama is still being played.”
“We still have believe in the Constitution, law, courts and the system but they think if they make us slaves by force of stick, then we will fight stick for stick and bullet for bullet,” he said.
To a question, Gandapur said the war of rights with the federation was also being won to a large extent. He said the NFC meeting will be called in August.
The chief minister said Imran Khan might have started forming some more committees regarding the movement and said he was also a part of the protest and movement.
“I will use the protocol of the chief minister; if someone shoots me, then those who save me will also shoot him. I will use my authority as the chief minister according to the Constitution,” he remarked.
