The IG Sindh has suspended SSP Keamari Town following the unrest that occurred after the protesters reached US consulate Karachi on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the IG Sindh Office, the action was taken over complaints of negligence in duty, mismanagement, and resulting financial and human losses.
Following initial inquiries, it was recommended that the SSP Keamari be removed and suspended. Subsequently, the SDPO Keamari, along with the SHOs of Docks, SITE B, KPT, and Jackson police stations, as well as the in-charge of the Foreign Security Cell, were suspended.
Orders have been issued for the suspended DSP to report to CPO, while the suspended SHOs and the in-charge of the Foreign Security Cell have been directed to report to Police Headquarters Garden.
For a transparent investigation, a high-level six-member committee has been constituted.
