Finn Wolfhard starred as Harry Potter while Caleb McLaughlin played Ron Weasley in the sketch
In the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Finn Wolfhard with musical guest A$AP Rocky, the NBC sketch show delivered a buzzy parody that blended the wizarding world of Harry Potter with the viral romance phenomenon Heated Rivalry.
The pre-taped sketch, titled “Heated Wizardry,” imagined Hogwarts as the setting for an intense and flirtatious quidditch rivalry, poking fun at the tone and tropes of the popular hockey romance while also riffing on the upcoming Harry Potter HBO series.
Wolfhard starred as Harry Potter opposite Ben Marshall’s Ron Weasley, with the two portrayed as ultra-competitive quidditch teammates whose rivalry quickly veers into exaggerated romantic tension.
A surprise cameo from Jason Momoa added to the laughs, with the actor appearing as Hagrid and bluntly declaring, “You’re a homo, Harry,” underscoring the sketch’s intentionally outrageous tone.
The parody also included a mock on-screen disclaimer attributed to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling reading, “I am not a part of this,” a pointed joke that acknowledged ongoing conversations around the franchise and its adaptations.
“Heated Wizardry” was one of several highlights from the episode, which also featured Wolfhard’s opening monologue that included a Stranger Things mini-reunion with Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin. For Wolfhard, the episode marked a confident hosting debut that showcased his willingness to embrace edgier comedy and self-aware humor.
The sketch quickly gained traction online, with fans praising its sharp pop-culture references and unexpected mashup.
