The Sindh Education Department has declared a holiday on August 15 for both public and private schools in observance of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). Consequently, schools will remain closed for four days.
A notification issued by the department confirmed that all educational institutions, both public and private, will remain closed on August 15 in observance of the religious occasion. The closure will extend over four days, from August 14 to 17, due to the combination of public holidays.

The notification further explained that August 14 marks Independence Day, followed by the holiday on August 15 for Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA). Schools will also be closed on August 16 and 17 as part of the regular weekend holiday, i.e. Saturday and Sunday.
This decision impacts schools across Sindh, with students set to resume classes on August 18, following the extended break.
