Sharon Osbourne shared an emotional memory about her late husband Ozzy Osbourne in an interview that was filmed just weeks before his death.
The music manager, who worked with Ozzy since 1979, opened up about their life together and admitted her “biggest mistake” during their years-long relationship.
Speaking on The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan earlier this year, Sharon recalled how Ozzy has been offered the chance to audition for Pirates of the Caribbean.
She revealed, “Do you want to know the biggest mistake I ever made with Ozzy… I have several billion we could be here all night. But he got offered to go and read for Pirates of the Caribbean. I’ve never said this to anyone.”
When Billy asked if she had turned it down, Sharon confirmed, “I said no. But wouldn’t he have been perfect? Because Johnny Depp wanted Keith Richards to be a pirate, you remember?”
The conversation resurfaced after the Black Sabbath frontman, famously known as the Prince of Darkness, passed away at the age of 76. His death came less than a month after performing his farewell concert at Villa Park in Birmingham, where he reunited with his original bandmates for the first time since 2005.
However, the late legend’s wife spoken fondly of the show just days before his passing, calling it a “huge success.” as she explained that Ozzy was touched by the massive turnout, telling her, “I had no idea that so many people liked me.”
The event raised money for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice, drawing more than 42,000 fans.
During his final performance, Ozzy told the crowd, “You’ve no idea how I feel, thank you from the bottom of my heart.” Fireworks lit up the Birmingham sky as the music legend bid farewell to his fans.
