RAWALPINDI:

The Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, chaired on Sunday a meeting with the affected residents of the University Town Housing Scheme to address their long-standing grievances and concerns.

She said that in accordance with the directives of the Secretary of Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, all matters relating to the affectees—including plot allotments, plot locations, possession of areas, development works, and other associated issues—would be resolved on a priority basis and within the shortest possible timeframe.

Murtaza directed officers of the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, Estate Management Wing, and other relevant RDA departments to discharge their duties fearlessly in the public interest, and to continue strict and indiscriminate action against illegal elements.

The DG RDA further informed the participants that a formal communication has been sent to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding the University Town Housing Scheme. She added that, for the convenience of the public, the blocked access road passing through the Eighteen Housing Scheme would be reopened shortly, which is expected to ease the difficulties currently faced by residents.
