DIJKOT:
Police have arrested the main suspect in the murder of a peanut vendor on Samundri Road four days ago and recovered the weapon used in the crime.
The incident had occurred outside a market on Samundri Road, where a dispute over picking up peanuts led the suspect, Mudassir, to open fire on Ismail Pathan and his brother. Ismail succumbed to his injuries in a hospital, while his brother was also wounded.
Following the incident, dozens of Ismail’s relatives protested at Civil Hospital and, the next day, blocked the road outside Batala Colony police station for several hours, issuing a 48-hour ultimatum to the police to arrest the suspect, warning that they would block the entire city if he was not apprehended.
In response, Faisalabad RPO Sohail Ahmed took notice of the case and police teams conducted raids at various locations, arrested the main suspect Mudassir, and recovered the murder weapon.
Meanwhile, three people, including a 10-year-old boy, were killed and two others injured in road traffic accidents.
