ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has declared Justice Sarfraz Dogar as the senior-most judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice, the President has also confirmed the permanent transfer of Justice Sarfraz Dogar along with two other judges to the IHC.
This decision follows a reference from the Supreme Court, which had sent the matter of determining the seniority of high court judges to the President.
According to the notification of the Ministry of Law and Justice, the President determined inter-seniority of the IHC judges as follows: 1 Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, 2 Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, 3 Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, 4 Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, 5 Justice Babar Sattar, 6 Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan, 7 Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, 8 Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz, 9 Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, 10 Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, 11 Justice Muhammad Asif, 12 Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas.
Furthermore, the notification mentions that the transfer of Justice Dogar, Justice Soomro and Justice Asif to the IHC was made on a permanent basis.
