RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi Commissioner Amir Khattak has approved the establishment of 18 new poultry farms across the Rawalpindi Division. The Divisional Environment Committee presented 19 cases, of which 18 were approved while one was rejected.

The owner of the rejected case has been directed to complete the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prior to submitting a fresh application for a poultry farm.

Of the cases presented, two pertained to Rawalpindi District, nine to Attock District, six to Chakwal District, and two to Jhelum District.

Following a detailed scrutiny of all cases, No Objection Certificates (NOCs) were issued for two controlled sheds in Rawalpindi District and six controlled sheds in Chakwal District. Similarly, one poultry farm and eight controlled sheds from Attock District were granted NOCs.

In Jhelum district, an NOC was issued for one controlled shed, while one poultry farm case was deferred and made subject to a report from the relevant Deputy Commissioner due to issues relating to joint ownership of property.

The Commissioner directed that successful applicants be encouraged to commence work at the earliest so that the launch of these economic activities may generate employment opportunities for local residents.
