LAHORE: The Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games Tehsil-level boys’ hockey trials were successfully conducted at National Hockey Stadium Pitch Two, under the directive of Director General Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry.
The trials, held on Friday, saw participation from over 40 players, who were divided into groups to compete in practice exhibition matches. The sessions aimed to assess match fitness and stamina, ensuring a competitive selection process ahead of the district-level matches.
The trials were supervised by Olympian Tauqeer Dar, international hockey umpire Beenish Hayat, District Sports Officer Lahore Tanveer Shah, and Tehsil Sports Officer Nasir Malik, ensuring a structured and professional evaluation of young talent.
The next phase of the Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games will see district-level competitions held from June 1 to 5, across all districts in Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, Tauqeer Dar lauded the initiative, stating: “Holding hockey competitions in the Chief Minister Punjab Summer Games is a major development, and such events should be organized regularly.”
