PEF partner school students also participate; 190 centres set up across Rawalpindi

A total of 27,230 students from across the Rawalpindi district are currently appearing in the Grade VIII board examination being conducted under the Punjab Education Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA).

According to official figures, the candidates include 10,870 boys and 15,968 girls, while 392 students from Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) partner schools are also participating in the examination.

Tariq Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority (DEA) Rawalpindi, said that 190 examination centres have been established across the district under the new examination system introduced by PECTAA.

As many as 52 centres have been set up in Gujar Khan tehsil followed by 16 in Kahuta, 17 in Kallar Syedan, 89 in Rawalpindi and 16 centres have been established in Taxila.

Mahmood said that extensive supervisory arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations. The monitoring staff deployed at these centres includes 190 resident inspectors, 197 superintendents, 578 invigilators, and 190 class-IV employees.

He further noted that strict monitoring is being carried out at all centres to ensure maximum transparency in the examination process. Several inspection teams have also been constituted, which are conducting daily visits to examination centres across the district.

“No complaints of cheating or examination irregularities have been received from any centre,” the DEA chief said, adding that he himself is personally visiting various centres to review the arrangements and ensure the process remains fair and orderly.
