The Driving Licence Department, Sindh, (DLS) has achieved a significant milestone by issuing 208,857 learner driving licences to citizens through its online web portal within just nine months and 10 days.

The service, which allows applicants to obtain licences from the comfort of their homes, reflects the growing success of the digital initiative launched under the Sindh government’s vision and the directives of Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon.

According to the department’s spokesperson, the online learner licence system was launched on September 28, 2024 and by February 18, 2025, the portal crossed the 100,000 mark for issued learner licences. As of now, a total of 208,857 learner licences have been issued through the online system.

In addition, the portal has processed 14,067 online permanent licence renewals and issued 7,600 international driving permits.

Overall, 375,127 users have registered themselves on the Driving Licence’s online platform, marking a strong shift towards digital adoption and ease of access for the public.
