QUETTA: One person was killed and four others were injured, one of them seriously, in a bomb explosion that took place in the Brewery Road area of the provincial capital on Sunday night.
Police said that the blast took place at the last bus stop of the Brewery Road area of the Western Bypass.
“A man who was driving a vehicle was killed on the spot while another person traveling in the vehicle was injured seriously in the powerful blast,” senior police officer Mehmood Kharoti said.
Three other persons who were passing through the area also got injured. Soon after the blast, police rushed to the site and shifted the dead and injured to Bolan Medical College Hospital, Quetta.
“We have received one body and four injured at the BMC Hospital,” spokesman for the hospital said, adding the condition of one injured identified as Nabeel was serious.
The deceased was identified as Hassan Ali Muhammad Hasni.
Police said that it was a targeted attack and a magnet bomb was detonated with remote. However, no one claimed responsibility for the bomb attack immediately.
An official said that a magnet bomb was used in the blast which was attached to the driver’s door.
