Media reports informed that one person died and another was severely injured following two helicopters colliding mid-air in Hammonton, New Jersey, on Sunday December 28,2025.

The incident happened around 12 p.m. (local time) near Basin Rd and North White Horse Pike, reports ABC7 Chicago.

Officials confirmed that at least one person has died and another person was injured after two helicopters collided midair.

Hammonton police informed that both helicopters crash-landed, and one was engulfed in flames.

“An Enstrom F-28A helicopter and an Enstrom 280C helicopter collided in mid-air near Hammonton Municipal Airport in New Jersey around 12:25 p.m. local time on Sunday, December,28,2025,”said Federal Aviation Administration FAA in a statement.

Eyewitness footage posted on social media from a nearby Tractor Supply parking lot shows thick black smoke rising over the crash site,while another clip captured a helicopter spinning out of control before slamming into the ground.

Moreover, the Hammonton Fire Department also confirmed it responded to an ‘aviation-related incident’ near Basin Road.

Authorities informed that the only people on board each aircraft were the pilots and the identities of those have not yet been released.

Additionally, Police officials informed that further details are yet to be disclosed as FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board NTSB have been notified and will be investigating the crash.
