LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif congratulated the participants of the Health & Population Department on the success of operation ‘Bunyan-um-Marsoos’ during the meeting.
She said that the success of operation ‘Bunyan-um-Marsoos’ infused new confidence to the nation and breathed a new spirit of national unity. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif made the defence of Pakistan invincible by carrying out nuclear explosions as it enhanced the dignity and respect of our country among the comity of nations, she added.
The chief minister sought a plan for providing blood to the patients across Punjab as per international standards. She gave in-principle approval to establish a Thalassemia centre in each division. Thalassemia centres will also be set up in 21 district and 15 tehsil headquarters hospitals. She took a principled decision to implement the most effective ‘Central Monitoring System’ for streamlining health department in the province. The chief minister directed to complete revamping process of hospitals at the earliest and further directed to complete revamping process of 800 health centres by June 20. She directed to establish an effective monitoring system for cleanliness and security services in district and tehsil hospitals across Punjab. The meeting comprehensively reviewed the proposed project for the next financial year. 71 projects of ‘Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic’ and 75 projects of ‘Population Management & Family Planning’ Program were also reviewed. The projects for the rehabilitation of dispensaries, MCL centres, provision of equipment and furniture were presented across Punjab.
A project for the production of oxygen and other essential gases has been prepared in Punjab. The proposal to establish a ‘Trauma Centre’ equipped with the latest equipment in hospitals across Punjab was unanimously agreed. The chief minister emphasized the need to hire a trained staff to operate the latest medical machinery in government hospitals.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the issuance of a wheat support price of Rs5,000 per acre to six lakh farmers through Kissan Card program.
Those farmers who do not have Kissan Card will also be granted a subsidy worth Rs5,000 per acre. The chief minister, while presiding over a special meeting, apprised that a subsidy of billions of rupees will be given to the farmers for the next crop as well. The participants of the meeting were informed that the farmers have utilized Rs36 billion to purchase agricultural inputs. 60 percent of the loan being issued for purchasing agricultural inputs through Kissan Card has been completed.
The farmers have returned loans amounting to Rs22 billion being obtained through Kissan Card. The second installment has been issued to the farmers for the new crop through Kissan Card.
It was informed in the meeting that 50 percent of the applications being received for the wheat support program have been verified. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a special meeting to review solarization scheme for the agricultural tube wells. The proposals for the implementation of wheat support program were reviewed. The proposal to include contractors along with agricultural land owners was also reviewed in the meeting.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited CMH to inquire after the Ghazis. She met the officers and soldiers who sustained injuries during the Indian aggression. She conversed with the Ghazi officers and soldiers undergoing treatment in the surgical ward and inquired about their well-being.
The chief minister prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured officers and soldiers. She appreciated the level of courage and determination of the Ghazi officers and soldiers displayed to combat Indian aggression. She paid glowing tributes to the courage and bravery of the Ghazi officers and soldiers. Corps Commander Lahore expressed gratitude to the chief minister for paying a visit.
Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her message on the International Nurses Day said, “Nurses are respected in every society. Every society is proud of their nurses who serve and help the sick as well as helpless with care.
Nurses are the embodiment of hope, courage and love in times of sickness, pain and helplessness.” She highlighted, “Nursing is not just a profession but a sacred duty that is dedicated to the spirit of serving the ailing humanity day in and day out. The nurses served the nation without caring for their lives in every emergency situation including outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic across the globe. We can never forget these selfless sacrifices.”
She maintained, “The Punjab government is determined to ensure dignity, respect and professional development of nurses in all government hospitals across Punjab.” She added, “The Punjab government is developing the nursing sector on modern lines. Language courses are also being conducted and all possible steps are being taken for the uplift of nursing sector in Punjab.”
