KARACHI:
The high-profile robbery of Rs130 million from the home of a car dealer, Muhammad Salik, in PECHS has sparked serious questions, with the police’s unusual silence turning the case into a mystery.
The suspects, said to be social media influencers, also took away 25 bottles of designer perfumes and 20 branded watches from the automobile showroom owner.
According to sources, links have emerged between the complainant, Muhammad Salik, and the prime suspect, Shehryar. The two were reportedly acquainted, working out at the same gym and frequently spending time together at a local snooker club. Sources also claim that the two had a personal dispute about a month prior to the incident.
One of the suspects, Yusra Zaib of showbiz industry was arrested near her residence, while the other two suspects, her siblings, Nimra and Shehryar, were apprehended from a bungalow in Defence Phase 5. Sources further revealed that the suspects had recently moved from PECHS to a rented house in Defence Phase 5 along with their family.
Police reportedly conducted two raids on the suspects’ residence, the second of which took place on the morning of June 29. During that raid, a third sister, Noorah, sustained minor injuries.
According to the registered FIR, five individuals, three women and two men, have been named in the case. All those arrested are, in fact, siblings.
So far, police have failed to recover the stolen Rs130 million, valuable items, or the double-cabin vehicle allegedly used in the robbery. The police’s silence and lack of investigative progress in the case have begun to raise serious questions.
