The short film, part of Disney’s ongoing Mickey+ series, sees Mickey and his companions enter Bluey’s world
A new animated crossover featuring Mickey Mouse and Bluey has been released, marking the first on-screen collaboration between the two popular children’s franchises.
The short film, part of Disney’s ongoing Mickey+ series, sees Mickey and his companions enter Bluey’s world and join her family in a game of Musical Statues. The production premiered on Disney+ and Disney Jr. on March 21, bringing together characters from both universes in a shared storyline aimed at younger audiences.
The crossover forms part of a broader initiative that pairs Mickey Mouse with other well-known characters, including previous collaborations with Stitch and Spidey. However, this release represents the first time Mickey has appeared alongside Bluey, a series that has grown significantly in global popularity in recent years.
The project was developed through a collaboration between Disney, Ludo Studio, the creators of Bluey, and BBC Studios. The short maintains the tone and style of both franchises, combining familiar settings and character dynamics in a concise format designed for digital platforms.
The release coincides with Bluey’s expanded presence at Disneyland, where new themed experiences are being introduced. From March 22, “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” will be staged at the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park, featuring appearances by Bluey and Bingo alongside live performers and musicians.
The crossover highlights Disney’s continued focus on cross-franchise storytelling as a way to engage younger audiences and families. By combining established characters from different properties, the company aims to extend the reach of its content across multiple platforms and entertainment experiences.
