LAHORE:
A 24-year-old medical student has gone missing under mysterious circumstances after boarding a bus in Lahore, prompting fears of abduction and triggering a police investigation. Ayyan Afzal, a student of a medical college, reportedly boarded a bus from Bahawalnagar to Lahore, at approximately 5:30pm on Monday.
According to family sources, his mobile phone was switched off shortly after he boarded the bus and no contact has been established with him since then.
His father, a senior citizen, and other family members grew increasingly anxious after multiple attempts to reach Ayyan failed. Fearing possible abduction, they approached the police to seek immediate help.
On the complaint of Tahir Mahmood, the victim’s maternal uncle, an FIR has been registered under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code (kidnapping or abduction with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person) at Nawan Kot police station.
