LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has promised to lower the roti prices in Punjab.

She chaired a meeting here on Thursday to review the prices of roti and other edibles. She ordered to fix the roti price according to the new flour price across Punjab.

The CM directed the Price Control Department to take immediate steps to further reduce the roti price. She also ordered to closely monitor prices of chicken, vegetables and pulses across Punjab.

“The poor used to eat cheap chicken once a week. I cannot tolerate hike in the prices of chicken under any circumstances,” she added. “I pledge to bring the price of ‘roti’ at the lowest level in Punjab’s history. The benefit in the reduction of flour price should reach directly to the poor.”
