KARACHI:
The additional district and sessions judge for District South, presiding over the Gender-Based Violence Court sentenced a man to 14 years in prison in an acid attack case and imposed a fine of Rs one million.
The court found Muhammad Ramzan guilty of attacking his sister with acid in 2022, leaving her injured. He was also ordered to pay Rs50,000 in compensation to the victim. The judge further handed him two separate four-year prison terms for injuring the victim’s two sons.
The convict was also ordered to pay Rs400,000 in compensation for injuring the boys.
