The Sindh Transport Department, on the directives of Senior Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has cancelled the leaves of officers of the Karachi Regional Transport Authority as well as all Regional Transport Authorities across the province on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.

According to an official notification issued by the department, all transport officers will remain present in the field during the Eid holidays to facilitate passengers and perform their duties.

The transport department has also made special arrangements to immediately address complaints of overcharging. A province-wide crackdown is underway against transporters involved in charging excessive fares.

A spokesperson for the department stated that during ongoing operations, more than 3,000 vehicles have been inspected. Passengers were refunded over Rs14 million on the spot, while fines exceeding Rs4.5 million were imposed on violators.

The department emphasised that strict action is being taken under a zero-tolerance policy against overcharging. All possible measures are being implemented to provide relief to passengers during Eid, and no exploitation will be tolerated.

The spokesperson added that the transport department remains committed to providing citizens with safe, affordable, and fair travel facilities, and continue with strict action against violators.
