LAHORE:
The Lahore Zoo has unveiled life-sized sculptures of rare wildlife species, creating a new visual attraction for visitors while promoting awareness about animal conservation.
Zoo Director Asim Cheema said the initiative aims to make the zoo not only a source of recreation but also an educational experience for visitors.
Informational boards have been placed outside enclosures, displaying details about each species’ diet, habitat, and behaviour. The zoo also plans to introduce QR codes on these boards, allowing visitors to access more information through their mobile phones.
Cheema said 14 new sculptures have recently been installed, including models of a giraffe, macaw, rhinoceros, snake and elephant, among other rare species. Earlier additions included sculptures of an elephant, lion, chimpanzee, and markhor.
