A brief exchange between Jenner and Timothée Chalamet’s sister at the Oscars sparked discussion online
Kylie Jenner’s appearance at the 2026 Academy Awards attracted online attention after a brief interaction with Pauline Chalamet, the sister of actor Timothée Chalamet, circulated widely on social media.
Jenner attended the ceremony alongside Chalamet, who had been nominated for Best Actor for his role in Marty Supreme. The event took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and was attended by many leading figures from the film industry.
On the red carpet, Jenner wore a red Schiaparelli halter gown and accessorised the look with Lorraine Schwartz diamonds reportedly totalling more than 200 carats. The ensemble drew attention among photographers and fans during arrivals at the ceremony.
However, a moment later inside the venue became the focus of online discussion. Chalamet was seen greeting his sister Pauline Chalamet, who attended the ceremony to support him and wore a black mini dress for the occasion.
After embracing his sister, Pauline Chalamet turned to greet Jenner. The reality television personality responded and complimented her outfit during the exchange, saying, “I love this,” while gesturing to Pauline’s look for the evening.
Clips of the interaction later circulated online, prompting speculation among viewers about the nature of the exchange. Some users described the moment as “awkward”, while others questioned whether the two had previously met.
One commenter wrote, “Did they ever meet before? It‘s giving ‘Nice to meet you,’”
Another asked, “My question is, are they just meeting for the first time?”
Additional reactions echoed similar sentiments, with one user writing, “Uhm, awkward. Have they never met before?” while another commented, “That looked awkward to me. Kylie took a while to get up to say hello.”
Chalamet ultimately did not win the Best Actor award. The prize went to Michael B. Jordan for his performance in Sinners, marking his first Academy Award win.
