Rain hits old city areas, Nazimabad, Surjani Town, North Karachi, Scheme 33, Clifton, Cantt and Delhi Colony
KARACHI:
Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds swept across Karachi on Wednesday, with multiple areas reporting intense downpours and gusty conditions.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the ongoing weather system is bringing thunderstorm activity, with the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall and hail in parts of the city.
Rain with thunder and lightning was reported in old city areas, North Nazimabad, and Nazimabad, while Surjani Town, North Karachi, and Scheme 33 experienced heavy downpours.
Clifton also witnessed rain coupled with strong, gusty winds, as dust storms and wind activity were reported in several parts of Karachi, worsening conditions.
Meanwhile, other areas including Cantt, Railway Colony, and Delhi Colony also received heavy rainfall as the storm system continued to move across the city.
The PMD has advised caution, warning that strong winds and heavy rain may disrupt routine activities in affected areas.
