The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) has announced a historic provincial-level conference to be held in Mardan on April 12.
Ahead of the event, a key meeting of the provincial Shura, district leaders, parliamentary party members, Tehsil Nazims, and department conveners has been scheduled for February 7 in Peshawar.
The provincial working committee meeting took place at the Federal Lodge in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Provincial Amir Senator Maulana Attaur Rehman. Attendees included Shura members Maulana Attaul Haq, Darwish Akhunzada, Mufti Ubaidullah, Mufti Ziaullah, Muhammad Rahim Haqqani, Barrister Imad Advocate, Noorul Islam, Sadaqat Khan, Muhammad Israr Marwat, and Maulana Ahmad Ali Darwish.
During the meeting, it was decided that the Mardan conference would address issues including provincial instability, corruption, constitutional matters, government policies on Islamic laws, and the state of madrassas.
The conference will also outline JUI-F’s future action plan. Maulana Fazlur Rehman will deliver a significant address on national and international developments.
The meeting further resolved that the provincial Shura, district leaders, parliamentary party members, Tehsil mayors and Nazims, and department conveners will meet at Mufti Mahmood Center in Peshawar at 10 am on February 7.
According to JUI spokesperson Abdul Jalil Jan, the provincial working committee, under the leadership of Provincial Amir Maulana Attaur Rehman, met with central Amir Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad to discuss the province’s political situation, organizational matters, and other critical issues. Maulana Fazl also issued special instructions to the provincial party.
