PESHAWAR:
Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Central, Abdul Waseem, has warned that Pakistan is facing its worst economic crisis in history.
Speaking at a Khatm-e-Bukhari Sharif event at Jamia Muftahul Uloom in Shergarh, he said the country is drowning in debt, inflation has crushed the common people, and law and order continues to deteriorate, while the government remains a mere bystander.
“Ordinary citizens struggle daily for basic necessities such as food, healthcare, education, and electricity,” he said. “Rising national debt threatens our sovereignty, and inflation has pushed the poor and middle class to extreme hardship.”
Waseem also highlighted that the worsening security situation has robbed people of peace, disrupted businesses, and fueled unemployment. He criticized the educational sector for suffering due to government negligence, with public schools facing severe challenges and both religious and modern education receiving unequal attention.
Expressing concern over severe power outages, he stated that electricity cuts have paralyzed households, businesses, and industry alike, yet the authorities have failed to provide relief.
