The ballroom competition on Season 34 of ‘DWTS’ continues to heat up as the Week 6 results were revealed
The ballroom competition on Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars continues to heat up as the Week 6 results were revealed, sending home Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying and his professional partner Rylee Arnold.
The announcement followed a surprise non-elimination in Week 5, marking Hoying and Arnold as the latest pair to leave the show after a competitive round of performances.
The departure came at the end of the show’s Wicked-themed night, where the contestants performed dances inspired by the hit musical.
Director Jon M. Chu joined regular judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli, while Wicked stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo introduced the evening with a message celebrating friendship and transformation.
Performances included professional and troupe routines set to Wicked favourites such as “Defying Gravity” and “For Good”. Hoying and Arnold opened the night with a contemporary routine to “The Wizard and I” by Erivo featuring Michelle Yeoh, earning a combined score of 58 out of 80.
The elimination leaves nine celebrity couples in the running for the Mirrorball Trophy, including Jordan Chiles, Danielle Fishel, Dylan Efron, Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Whitney Leavitt, Andy Richter, Jen Affleck and Elaine Hendrix.
Looking ahead, two-time Mirrorball champion Cheryl Burke is set to join the judging panel as a guest for Week 7.
The addition of Burke comes as Dancing with the Stars celebrates its 20th anniversary season, featuring a diverse cast of athletes, actors, musicians and influencers.
The series continues to air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, with episodes also streaming the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.
