KARACHI:

More than 300 aspiring chefs will be showcasing their cooking skills during the two-day Culinary Arts Competition that kicked off on Saturday at Expo Centre under the banner of the Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (PITHM).

Organised with the support of the Sindh Department of Culture and Tourism, the event aims to encourage youth interested in hospitality and culinary arts by providing them a platform to display their talent and gain recognition in the growing food industry.

According to PITHM Director Ali Malkani, the competition is part of the second annual Karachi Culinary Championship, bringing together students from multiple culinary institutes across the city.

Participants prepared Pakistani, Continental, and Chinese cuisines within the allocated time, strictly adhering to competition rules. Their dishes were evaluated by a panel of seasoned judges comprising expert chefs and hospitality professionals from five-star hotels and renowned culinary institutions. The event also features four specialised workshops where master chefs will demonstrate signature recipes from Italian, Korean, Turkish, and Japanese cuisines, offering students hands-on exposure to international culinary trends.
