RAWALPINDI:

An accountability court on Wednesday granted former Punjab chief minister and PTI president Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi permanent exemption from personal appearance in a land embezzlement reference.

Judge Sheikh Ijaz Ali approved Elahi’s plea for exemption and adjourned the hearing till 12 November, when charges will be framed against all 18 accused in the case.

Elahi appeared before the court along with his legal team, including Sardar Abdul Razzaq, Amir Saeed Raan, and Sardar Shehbaz. The court allowed Advocate Sardar Shehbaz to represent Elahi in future proceedings on his behalf.
